Wow, so many comments this week. For everyone's sake, I should probably pause for a week-or a lifetime-after this. I appreciate someone's point about Atomic Habits and continuous incremental improvement. I feel I should point out, however-at the risk of making excuses for myself on account of typology-that Ni doms are a different breed. Compared to our Ne counterparts (INFJ-ENFP, INTJ-INTJ), we have the same values but opposite strengths. Imagine an ENFP, for example, who lights up every room they stumble into, gets distracted by everyone and everything they encounter, and ultimately magnetises and is followed (and liked and subscribed to) by all in the building and town. Now imagine the opposite, but in the same place. Imagine walking into a room with a laser, burning a hole in the wall and through all who stand in its way. Imagine fixating on said hole, pausing only to annihilate decoy ducks. Imagine capturing a glimpse of a rainbow through this hole and the treasure that lies at its end, but ultimately having no one in the building or town with whom to share it. Ni doms are intensely 'all or nothing'. I didn’t just incrementally improve something-I wrote an algorithm that can reduce 99.9% of time and cost in a certain sector, not for one organisation next year, but for countless global organisations immediately, while also improving and marketing itself. An ENFP might expect that this would elicit several likes and subscribes-but unfortunately, no: only crickets, followers of the 'surveillance' type, and one or more angry mobs attempting to cause harm covertly. How might one expect to feel in such a situation? Drained and panicky, perhaps. When I get back into health and fitness as I plan to, it will be much the same. I won’t casually hang at a gym occasionally and make small talk-I’ll start training all day every day. And, I’ll start attracting narcissistic vampire women again (no one here, I hope). From an Ni planning perspective, there’s a correct order here: algorithm first, so I can ‘multitask’ while at the gym. Believe it or not, there’s a complementarity of Ne and Ni types that can provide a much-needed counterbalance-and we’re already living that here.

Reflecting on dearest Kristin's latest video on a more 'phenomenological' level yields some insights of note, at least to me personally. Firstly, I consider it to be one of her best works to date, particularly in respect to the depth of her writing and the individuated nuance of each of the 16 characters she portrays. Despite this, however, it’s performing relatively poorly in terms of viewership. The algorithm is downgrading her work, I believe because it perceives that she’s low in attractiveness (due to the fat suit), and because it recognises that her largely male and INTJ fanbase is relatively uninterested (with INTJs being the type least likely to procreate). This has implications for me personally: if I work harder on superficial aspects of myself, I might be better received (duh). From the perspective of a low S user, superficiality shouldn’t matter - yet it does, of course, and not only in Sydney, LA and Miami. Secondly, her appearance has no effect on my feelings for her (which is unfortunate if my aim is to get over said feelings!). A problem of having feelings for a UA-cam celebrity is that I’m left wondering to what extent I’m drawn to her looks and stardom. While I’m proud of her achievements and wish for her to achieve more, I find her most recent video reassuring (or troubling) in that respect - even if she forever looked that way or worse and had no viewers, I would feel the same way. It’s about the energy, yo. Though impractical, I feel like every couple should have to pass a certain test before marriage: they should experience a hated and incarcerated version of their partner, and also a 'core activity need' version who requires communication, mobility, and self-care support. While I hope that neither I nor my future spouse (if I marry) ever has to endure such circumstances, I would want to know that we could and that our connection would remain. Am I into someone for their popularity and freedom, and thus their ability to enhance my own experience across those domains? And, for their fitness/hotness that would excite and validate me while reflecting well on me in the eyes of others? Or, do I welcome those gifts but recognise their transient nature, and love a certain 'energetic signature' that will endure for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. Of course, this is exactly the sort of thing that a low-status person might say to try to manipulate a higher-status person into dating them. Should ever someone try this on you, I recommend the following answer: "Okay, cool - I'll go date someone who's as hot as me for now; and if I'm widowed, institutionalised, and disabled in my 80s, I'll look you up, given that you'll still want me regardless." Clearly, two people have to bring complementary gifts of about equal value to the altar in the first instance. And, that’s profoundly daunting where the other person brings so very much.

Okay but besides the apple, hair, and doctor's appointments - the fact that Lizzie recently picked up a popular book out of curiosity only to accidentally fall SO far in love with it in the space of two weeks that she's now convinced her husband to give her unborn child a name from said popular book AND she is absolutely dying to talk about it with her friends (to the point of giving up after ONLY two incredibly unsubtle hints) is what really proves that Kristin knows us ENFPs way too well 😅
